TinyTraffic runs on a wide variety of systems. Because it does both WAP (WML) and HTML, any "internet-enabled" phone can support it. Even the weak crippled S-E T610!
Of course your best bet is to try it yourself, which you're free to do. This page of the site is dedicated to showing what TinyTraffic looks like, and what some of the competition looks like. These aren't on the previous page so that low-bandwidth users can avoid the graphics.
The Sony Clie UX-50 is (was) a Palm-compatible handheld with IrDA, Bluetooth and WiFi. In the car, it communicates quite well via Bluetooth through the S-E T610 to the internet. It's hard to tell from the lack of surroundings, but this PDA is tiny; about 4.25 inches by 3.25 inches by about 0.7 inches thick when closed. It's exceptionally convenient for checking email with on-the-run, or this traffic website, or also for using to send/receive SMS messages through the bluetooth-enabled cell phone. |

And these are screen-shots of TinyTraffic, taken with ZGrab:

And finally, the S-E T610 itself. This beastie has a different-shape screen and is also only WML-compatible, not HTML.
So the layout is different. Note that the map is oriented to match the screen and is scrollable.

I'm not a fan of TrafficGauge. Not only did it come to the scene after TinyTraffic, but it's inferior in every important respect:
With all that, what's to like? | ![]() |
Currently (as of October 2004), eight possible modes are supported in TinyTraffic. More may come along eventually; they're easy enough to add. But these should cover most likely needs. Simply select the size (row) and the format (column), and copy the link-address or follow it and set the bookmark. |
